Jiayin MasterClass 2026 Gala - Celebrating Our 15 Years of Ballet Excellence

An evening of radiant ballet artistry awaits as Jiayin MasterClass (Australian Academy of Ballet) presents its 15th Anniversary Gala: a stage alive with classical splendour, original contemporary choreography and a constellation of emerging stars. With polished technique, expressive musicality and the exhilaration of live performance, the dancers bring the atmosphere and artistry of a true ballet gala to a celebration shaped by fifteen years of dedication.

Bringing together every student, from Primary through to Advanced and Pre-Professional level, the gala reflects a defining belief: every dancer matters. Each student is valued, supported and given the opportunity to shine as a leading character in the story created together. This distinctive all-school presentation celebrates the promise of emerging stars and the strength of a close-knit ballet family—a spirit at the heart of Jiayin MasterClass’s fifteen-year journey.

Audiences can look forward to an evening of vivid contrasts and beautiful detail: the precision, musicality and expressive refinement of classical ballet, alongside original contemporary choreography created for the students. Classical highlights include celebrated variations and excerpts from Don Quixote, Paquita, The Pharaoh’s Daughter, La Fille Mal Gardée, Giselle, Le Corsaire, Harlequinade, Graduation Ball, as well as Awakening of Flora, etc. These demanding works reveal the discipline, artistry and stage presence developed through sustained, expert training. Contemporary solos and ensemble works add a fresh perspective, with movement that is bold, thoughtful and deeply human.

Behind this work is Jiayin MasterClass’s considered educational vision: world-class artistic faculty, thoughtful planning for each student’s development, and connections to the wider international ballet community. By recognising each dancer’s strengths and aspirations, the school seeks to create meaningful pathways for growth, help students be seen, and support every student in realising their fullest potential through ballet—whatever direction their future may take.

The gala brings the whole school together, including students whose accomplishments reflect the high standards of their training. These include RAD examination results at Distinction and High Distinction, RAD competition finalists, semi-finalists and award winners, students awarded scholarship opportunities by leading ballet schools following YAGP participation, award-winning student invited to the 2025 YAGP Finals in the US. Several Jiayin MasterClass students are also invitees of The Australian Ballet School’s Interstate Training Program (ITP). In 2026, one Jiayin MasterClass student accepted the offer from Victorian College of the Arts Secondary School, and one student has received a full-time offer from The Australian Ballet School.

Join us for a captivating Wednesday evening of classical splendour, contemporary imagination and the shared joy of dance.
