About
A demon to some, a lover to one, a fool to himself
RAHWANA: The Untold Story Comes Alive in a Multicultural Theatrical & Cinematic Spectacle
Step into a world where mythology, music, and movement intertwine. RAHWANA — a groundbreaking theatrical and cinematic experience — ignites The Round Theatre, on Sunday, 1st March 2026.
Organised by the Indonesian Society of Victoria (PERWIRA), this production reimagines the Ramayana through the eyes of its most misunderstood hero — Rahwana, the King of Lanka
Far from a tale of good versus evil, RAHWANA delves into humanity within myth — exploring power, devotion, sacrifice, and love in vivid emotional shades.
Featuring a diverse international cast from Indonesia, Australia, India, Turkey, Persia × Japan, Vietnam, Nepal, and Africa, the show celebrates unity in diversity through an extraordinary fusion of cultures, languages, and artistry.
Blending live theatre and cinematic storytelling, audiences will experience:
• 🎭 Modern drama infused with ancient storytelling
• 🔥 Epic Kecak and cultural dances
• 🌌 Immersive CGI transporting viewers to mythical realms
• 👑 Exquisite handcrafted costumes inspired by Asian heritage
• 🎬 A powerful cinematic narrative alongside live performance
• 🗣 English dialogues — accessible for all
From the echoes of devotion to the chaos of war, RAHWANA invites you to rediscover an epic you thought you knew — through breathtaking visuals, music, and emotion.
A show not to be missed!
